3rd Graders' Learning About Rocks

Writer: Cornerstone SchoolCornerstone School

The third graders in Hawk Class had an exciting and educational field trip to the Palo Alto Junior Museum on Friday, September 6, where they explored the fascinating world of rocks. During this interactive experience, the students examined over twenty types of rocks, applying hands-on learning to classify them into igneous, sedimentary, or metamorphic categories. Guided by the museum instructor, the students worked like budding geologists, analyzing rock features and gathering evidence to make accurate classifications. We look forward to seeing how these investigative skills will enhance their learning in various subjects both inside and outside the classroom!
