5th Graders' Learning Excursion About Water Filtration

Writer: Cornerstone SchoolCornerstone School

The Flying Dragon Class took a field trip on Wednesday, September 20, to explore the water sewage process in relation to their current social science theme about environmental conservation. During the trip, the students learned about the different steps of the water filtration process, including aeration, coagulation and sedimentation, filtration, and disinfection, and reflected on the importance of preventing pollution. The trip provided students the opportunity to reflect on their daily water usage and consider what immediate actions they could take to conserve the already limited water resources on our planet. We hope to see our students use their newfound knowledge to take more proactive steps in making our world a better place!
